Parachutte and Hot Air Balloon

image1372

1975 Homestead, FL

My husband and I jumped out of a plane hooked to a static line 3,000 feet high in the sky. A static line is a line that is hooked to the plane and will open your parachute automatically (hopefully) as you fall. I fell like a rag doll way off target. The few seconds until my parachute opened were unclear, for that reason I did not jump again, until....

1998 September Central Florida

I gave my mom, Matilda Bragg Moon her birthday wish to go on a hot air balloon ride in the Central Florida area. My husband and I went with her. She loved it.

1998 November Umatilla, FL

I did my first Free-Fall Tandem (photos). My son, Robert Baron Pardo, shared this experience by jumping tandem also. The tandem is free-falling with an instructor. I jumped 2 1/2 miles up in the sky, 13,500 feet. What a RUSH!!! I made sure I kept my eyes open this time. It was the biggest 'rush' I ever experienced in my life. Again, I was way off target and fell like a rag doll. I asked the instructor how can you tell a bush from a tree. He said you can't.  My son landed on his feet on target at the airport.

1999 January Cape Canaveral, FL area

My son and I jumped tandem again. He was like a pro swerving through the air.
